Waitakere Resort & Spa is a boutique property, nestled within 30 hectares of native rainforest just half an hour’s drive from downtown Auckland. We specialise in small, intimate and inclusive weddings and elopements for 10-70 people. The property has various settings for your perfect wedding within its extensive, well-maintained grounds. Ceremony settings include our beautiful gardens set amongst nature and native birdsong, or our purpose-built quaint chapel for those intimate indoor weddings.

Weddings today are often for only our closest family and friends and we welcome smaller wedding parties as much as larger ones. We can accommodate your ceremony, your reception and your guests overnight in the comfort of our beautifully appointed ensuite accommodation. Highlights include:

Our various settings among nature within our well-maintained grounds and manicured gardens, are perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Or our purpose-built quaint wooden chapel is perfect for indoor wedding ceremonies.

Our Gardens

Our elegant grounds and magical rainforest setting will make yours a unique wedding to remember. We have many unique spaces which are perfect for a tranquil outdoor wedding ceremony including the wedding arch by the pond or on our well-manicured lawns. Imagine your wedding ceremony being conducted to the background sound of native birdsong, surrounded by flowering shrubs and perennials ensuring a fragrant and colourful backdrop to your special day. Ceremonies taking place outdoors may be enhanced with a floral decorated archway, and can be seated or standing. You have several set-up options within our garden where your guests can relax amongst nature and be served fresh, seasonal Canapés and beverages of your choice on the lawn following your
exchange of vows. Maximum 70 guests (including 20 seated).

Our Chapel

Nestled alongside native Rainforest and our well manicured upper garden, our purposebuilt quaint chapel provides the perfect way to celebrate your love within an intimate indoor wedding venue. Our chapel provides the perfect venue for weddings and vow renewal ceremonies. Our chapel is an intimate indoor space that you can dress up to reflect your personal style, enabling you to reuse your decorations later at your wedding reception. Following on from your ceremony, your guests can relax and mingle in our upper garden, being served fresh and seasonal Canapés and carefully selected beverages. Maximum 50 guests.

Our Reception Venue – The Tui Room

Our main elegant wedding reception venue surrounded by natural rainforest, with floor to ceiling bi-fold doors on two sides facing out onto an intimate deck that provides your guests with an abundance of natural light; along with spectacular panoramic views out towards Auckland city, Rangitoto and Coromandel Peninsula. We provide linen table cloths and napkins, cutlery,glassware, branded menus and chair covers: you just need to bring yourselves and your nearest and dearest to complete the perfect wedding. Reception Round Tables: 42 guests
Reception Long Tables: 70 guests

Come for the ceremony, stay for the settings

We have 26 rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 58 guests. We are pleased to offer your guests a special bed and breakfast package on the night of your wedding. Packages includes accommodation in a Deluxe Room and cooked breakfast for 2 people in the restaurant on the following morning. The Wairua Day Spa, sauna, outdoor pool and extensive grounds will ensure that you and your guests are relaxed and pampered.

Indicative rates are from $250 for a Deluxe room. We have several accommodation options to suit your guests. Please ask our conference team for an accommodation quote for your wedding group. Check in is available from 2pm and check out is 10am. Accommodation is subject to availability. To ensure your guests secure accommodation we suggest they book as early as possible, and then confirm their booking at least two months prior to your wedding.

 Start your celebrations with a stellar Stag or Hen’s Do

A time to bond and share laughter with your besties and your closest family, a hen or stag celebration at Waitakere Resort and Spa is guaranteed to be lots of fun. For those of you feeling active and adventurous we can arrange abseiling, canyoning, archery or pistol shooting combined with lunch or snacks and drinks on the lawn. For a more low-key celebration, how about a day or evening of pampering in our Wairua Day Spa combined with a wine tasting session or High Tea.
